G&W has found that veterans possess skills, competencies and work experience that transfers well to rail operations and actively recruits veterans or transitioning military personnel.
In fact, G&W is a supporter of American Corporate Partners (ACP), a national nonprofit focused on helping returning veterans and active-duty spouses find careers through one-on-one mentoring. Dozens of our team members participate in this mentoring program every year.
G&W’s enduring legacy is the sum of contributions from our employees, customers, suppliers and community members – many of whom have proudly served in the U.S. military. As part of our 125th anniversary initiative to honor pieces of our heritage via specially painted locomotives, nearly a dozen unique engines were placed in operation thin 2024 across a handful of our railroads to honor the millions of veterans and service members for their courage and sacrifice in keeping us safe.
