All parties interested in purchasing GWI railroad real estate
must provide the following information:
- Name, address and telephone number of interested party.
- If applicant is represented by a broker, specific contact
information for the broker. (The railroad does not typically pay
real estate commissions or closing costs and may require a survey
to be prepared at the purchaser's expense.)
- Two maps of the subject property:
- Large scale map of the site
- Smaller scale map showing location of the subject property
- Digital photos of the subject property
- Indication of intended use of the property
- Net cash offer for the subject property
These materials should be forwarded to the Regional Manager of
Real Estate Development by email (preferred and would likely result
in expedited reply), U.S. Mail or fax:

Typically, the railroad’s process to determine if the property
can be released for sale includes: 1) a review of your request, 2)
obtaining the necessary internal approvals and 3) establishing an
acceptable purchase price for the property. If the initial review
indicates that the property can be sold, a purchase contract
detailing the terms and conditions of the proposed sale would be
provided for your review.
This should not be construed as a commitment to sell real property,
as all such matters require formal approval by the senior
management of the Railroad.
